Antique Stool

Handcrafted over a century ago in China’s Shandong Province, this vintage stool is a quiet study in timeworn beauty. Made from solid elmwood using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, its simple form is elevated by a richly layered patina earned through decades of everyday use.

Each mark, knot, and subtle irregularity tells a story, giving the stool a sense of depth and authenticity that can’t be replicated. Despite its age, the construction remains sturdy and functional and can be styled as a bedside perch, a sculptural accent layered into a room, or used as extra seating around the dining table.
