Meet one of our favorite artists (and major girl crush) Jordan Wright Patterson. She's fueled by funky natural wine and 70s rock, and her one-of-a-kind pieces are a testament to the beauty that comes from releasing expectation and going with the flow.

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR CRAFT.
I've been exploring this "way of creating" for about 4 1/2 years now, and I still find it hard to explain it perfectly. I'm dedicated to simplicity and minimalism when it comes to my process. When I sit down to start a piece I usually sketch out a rough outline for the overall direction and shape, and then I freehand cut everything else. I love going with the flow and not having a set plan... that's when I feel most connected to what I do.
〰
WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO CREATE?
Music is my number one source of inspiration. When I work it requires a lot of movement and fluidity. I hit that peak " flow state" point in my process when I'm listening to really good music. Most of the time it's classic 60s-70s rock, but lately I've stumbled across some newer musicians and bands that I'm really enjoying.

WE'RE INTERIOR DESIGNERS, SO WE HAVE TO ASK: WHAT'S YOUR DESIGN STYLE AT HOME?
I'd say it's a marriage of laid-back minimalism and rock n' roll... rock n' roll church, if you will (lots of white walls and pops of black and leather everywhere).
〰
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE TREASURE OR PIECE OF ART?
Definitely the Victorian baby ring my sister gifted to me as a wedding gift. It has a J and B inscribed on it (my husband's name is Bryan) so I hold it very dearly. I had it stretched out at the jeweler so it's the perfect midi ring... I wear it everyday!
〰
WHAT IS YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE OR VICE OF CHOICE?
A good glass of funky, natural wine and getting the monthly facials/ skin treatments. If you're ever in the Atlanta area I highly recommend going to The Aviary and seeing Maria.
〰
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO UNWIND?
Going to yoga classes and for long, brisk walks. Nothing makes me feel more rejuvenated!

TRAVEL IS A MAJOR SOURCE OF JOY AND INSPIRATION FOR US - WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE YOU'VE TRAVELED?
My grandmother took me to Paris and the surrounding countryside when I turned 16 and I've been completely smitten ever since. The culture, food, architecture, museums/ art.... everything. I'd also have to say northern California, specifically the Petaluma/Sonoma/Healdsburg areas. My husband and I stayed on a cattle ranch in Petaluma for our honeymoon and it was such a fun trip. Didn't plan a single thing out... just winged it.

TELL US SOMETHING SURPRISING ABOUT YOURSELF!
It's not super exciting (nor surprising, I guess), but I did have to wear a back brace pretty much all throughout middle school. Those were the years I became fashion obsessed... I remember sneaking to the bathroom to take it off so I could put on better outfits and kitten heels. Who the heck wears heels in middle school? Haha.
