The Leather Workroom - Marrakech, Morocco

We were lost in the winding souks of Marrakech when we stumbled upon our partner Chay Abdelhadi’s leather pouf workshop. It stood out right away. Chay is meticulous about his materials and process: every leather pouf made in his workshop is vegetable dyed and hand stitched, typically by one person. They’re also double lined making them more durable and finer looking than the many others made nearby. The embroidered medallions on top are hand-stitched with cotton thread by women who work from their homes as a way to improve their livelihood. We believe these are the best Moroccan poufs the country has to offer.
