In Zimbabwe, farming is an unreliable means, so the women in this collective weave beautiful baskets using the leaves of the ilala palm trees native to the area to help support their families and improve their livelihoods. Each basket is one of a kind with intricate geometric designs that require advanced skill and several days to complete. Hand dyed in brown and natural tones, our ilala palm wall baskets support the weaving community behind them, enabling many mothers to send their children to school for the first time.
