Hmong Batik Pillow - No. 01
STORY + DESCRIPTION
These all-natural textiles are made using the ancient art form of Batik, a wax resist dying process used in Hmong cultures for centuries. First wax is artfully applied to 100% cotton fabric in a unique, intricate pattern. Next the textile is hand-dyed using a natural vegetable dye that only adheres to the fabric without wax. Lastly, the wax is boiled away revealing the unique patterning of the un-dyed portion. Each pillow is backed with 100% linen fabric and features a hidden zipper.
Size: Approx. 13" x 22"
Materials: 100% cotton textile front, natural linen backing, white zipper closure
Insert: Pillow ships unfilled - we recommend a 15” x 24" down/feather insert
Care: Dry clean or spot clean only
Note: Since each pillow is made from unique textiles they may vary slightly from piece to piece in pattern + color. Due to the handwoven nature of these pillows, there may be imperfections which we consider to make them special and add to their uniqueness and beauty.
